About Me
Hi, I’m Cody Rudolph, and this is my blog.
This site began as a “digital business card,” something I could point people to if they wanted to know more about me and what I do. But it has since become my creative outlet and, ultimately, my way of giving back to the REI community.
Why a blog?
What you’ll discover about this industry is that—unlike so many other industries—real estate is a team game. Investors, agents, brokers, lenders, bankers, bird dogs, mom-and-pop shops, and even mighty hedge funds play in the same sandbox. So, it pays to network and collaborate. It pays to share.
I’m also an introvert; I don’t have the charm to be a guru or speak at conferences. A blog allows me to organize and share my knowledge in a structured guidebook-esque way. And I can always revisit and update my blog articles so they stay relevant and accurate for years to come.
In a nutshell, a blog allows me to be a thought leader from the comfort of my home. And I can mostly avoid the “content grind” influencers and public figures go through.
Why listen to me?
I’ve been marketing real estate businesses and generating leads since 2016, first for myself and later for other investors and investment firms across the US, Canada, and Mexico. I’ve built dozens of successful marketing strategies, created hundreds of lead funnels, and generated thousands of buyer, seller, coaching, and cap-raise leads during that time.
But I didn’t start out in the marketing field. I started out in real estate—and arguably never left—and years later, found my niche in real estate marketing.
My background (a few facts and figures)
- I was the sixth child (of seven) growing up in rural Northwest Arkansas.
- I dropped out of high school at 17 to start managing rental properties.
- After the 2008 crash, I moved to San Francisco and trained to become a carpenter.
- I started (and eventually tanked) three businesses before starting in real estate.
- My first win in real estate investing was a wholesale deal—I walked away with $40k.
- From 2016-2020, I partnered with two other investors to build a multi-million-dollar rental property portfolio. We later sold that portfolio for a tidy profit.
- During the Covid-19 lockdowns, I pivoted from active investing to real estate marketing.
- Today, I work with some of the largest and most successful private real estate investors, investment firms, and developers in the US, Mexico, and Canada.
What’s next for me?
At some point, I’ll pull a book out of this blog and publish it. It’s always been a goal of mine to write an actual, physical book, something people can earmark and read while they’re traveling.
For now, though, I’m intent on creating THE go-to blog for real estate marketing. My hope is that some of you (if even just a few) use what I share to build your own real estate ‘escape plan’ or at least score a few good deals.
I’ll see you out there!
